I was inspired to become a wedding officiant because I love the idea of helping couples celebrate one of the most important days of their lives. There's something truly special about being part of a ceremony that unites two people in love and commitment. I wanted to play a meaningful role in helping them create a moment that reflects their unique bond, values, and journey.
My favorite part about officiating weddings is witnessing the true emotions and the deep connection between the couple when they share their vows. There's an incredible energy in the moment when two people declare their love and commitment in front of their closest family and friends. It reflects their unique journey together, making the experience meaningful and memorable. It’s incredibly fulfilling to witness their joy, seeing the smiles, the happy tears, and all the emotions that wedding bring.
Selecting a favorite from the many beautiful ceremonies I have had the privilege of witnessing and officiating is challenging. However, I can say that in most ceremonies where the couple shared heartfelt vows and were moved to tears, I found myself deeply touched as well (my husband wondered why I would often leave the office in tears, now he just smiles). The emotion and love conveyed (even through the screen) is truly moving.
My advice for you couples preparing for their ceremony is to focus on the meaning of the day rather than the details. While it’s easy to get caught up in planning and logistics, remember that the ceremony is ultimately about celebrating your love and commitment to one another. Also, don’t forget to take a deep breath and enjoy the day—things may not go perfectly, but what matters most is the love you share and the memories you create together.
I wish every couple knew that it's okay to not have everything figured out from the start. Marriage is about learning and growing together. It's important to give each other grace, be patient, and embrace the ups and downs as part of the journey. Love evolves, and so will their relationship, so to focus on building a strong partnership where both people will feel supported and valued.

I am happily married to the love of my life, with whom I share five wonderful children and five grandchildren. I create handmade crafts using wood, ceramic, and stone, which has been a fulfilling creative outlet for me. Additionally, I work as a genealogist in the family history department, where I have the privilege of helping individuals trace their ancestors and reconnect with their family heritage, sometimes going back centuries. I particularly enjoy examining historical documents, such as old marriage certificates, and reflecting on the stories and moments of joy they represent.
